Federal Funding Opportunities for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

The federal government recently passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), also known as the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act, to support clean energy programs. According to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute the IRA paired with the investments through the BIL, are helping the United States unleash clean energy, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, create jobs, and drive down greenhouse gas emissions. Each state will be responsible for administering the funds for these programs.

What’s available for Wisconsin residents and business owners? The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin’s Office of Energy Innovation (OEI) will administer the Wisconsin-specific funding. The OEI will update its federal funding opportunities web page regularly as more information becomes available. Until specific program details are available, you will find resources below to help when planning your upcoming energy efficiency or renewable projects for your home or business. Focus on Energy rebates and incentives are separate from tax credits and deductions.
